Hi,

I am in my 5th week of a part time 15mth program studying neuromuscular and physical therapy, although my massage techniques seem to be up to scratch and i am enjoying the course I am finding the theory very difficult, I am currently trying to learn the muscles along with their origin and insertion points and I am struggling with the language used. Can anybody give me any advice or direct me to good websites or give me a simpler way of learning!

I havent studied in a long time and never in this area...

I have made myself little flash cards that i take out whenever i have a few minutes...Im starting to panic! Any advice would be great!  Cry

It can take time to learn the muscles. They all have latin roots and their meaning does make sense, however.  (Mostly, wherever there is a minimus, there is also a maximus, brachii means arm... trapezius refers to the trapeziod shape, etc).
I would get the anatomy coloring book. Other than that, you just have to memorize the names. Being in an environment where the muscle names are used is helpful, so start using the names when you refer to the muscles instead of the arm, leg, etc.

I hope this helps- your on the right track...
